Charleston New Years 2007

Are most of the bars in Charleston ticket only on new years? or can people who dont really want to make plans just float on down to the popular bars, pay the cover, and have a good time?

Any good places would be great!

Most of the bars will just charge the cover to get in, but nothing that you would have to purchase in advance. I would walk around King Stree, the Market and East Bay.

Also, when you get into town, look for a City Paper. They have a list of all the special events going on for New Years.

Good deal,

We are jsut trying to decide between Charleston or Savannah.

both are great cities but i%26#39;m from charleston, and for nightlife in the south (except for atlanta) you can%26#39;t beat it....parking is the only problem but it%26#39;s worth it...get there early and park in the parking garage at the omni hotel (charleston place) and everything is within 15 minutes walking distance..

have fun...be safe...

I vote Charleston, there is more to do.

We rang in the new year last year in Charleston. It was fabulous. Stayed on East Bay all night and never paid a cover. On-street parking was easy even at 10pm or so. I wouldn%26#39;t even attempt to get a cab into town. We called earlier in the day (noon or so) to reserve a cab into town, got a confirmation, then ended up waiting over an hour after our reserved time. Cabbie never showed. We stayed in Mt Pleasant, and the drive in was fine - 10 minutes max to find a space.
