Help the newbie :)

Hi y%26#39;all! I am a first time visitor to Charleston. My new hubby and I will be there the end of December as part of our honeymoon trip but alas will only be there Friday evening and all day Saturday/Saturday night. It%26#39;s such a short amount of time for so many amazing things I keep reading about doing. How would you suggest we spend our time? I am very interested in doing a carriage tour and maybe a ghost tour but don%26#39;t know which are the best. My husband and I are very laid back and casual. We are looking for a nice ';home style'; restaurant and maybe a lunch option. Any help you could provide would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thank you!

i%26#39;d suggest reading the forum for many meal suggestions. so many fabulous options.

cru cafe for lunch is my fav.

what do you mean by ';home style'; and is this for dinner? are you thinking something like mrs. polks in savannah? I%26#39;m not sure anything quite like that in charleston. maybe pooghan%26#39;s porch - except it is just OK food - so much bettr available. jestine%26#39;s better bet - it is typical ';meat and 3'; type place, i love sunday pot roast special.

for nice dinners i would look at peninsula grill, carolina%26#39;s and oak. none are at the yop price-wise and have great food.

take a walking tour saturday morning, stop at farmer%26#39;s market and the market, lunch at cru, carriage ride and a museum or home saturday afternoon, nice dinner. that%26#39;s a full day. relax in between down at the waterfront, browse the stores and art galleries. too little time, i know you will plan another trip. congratulations. richmond, va? if so, easy drive - about 61/2 hr depending on traffic.
