Golf Courses

I was wondering what are some inexpensive golf courses in Myrtle Beach or near Myrtle Beach. I am not looking for a really quality course, just something for a tight budget when i come down in April. There seems like tons of courses, but they all seem to be like 60-90 dollars a round. So i was wondering if anyone knew of a course other than the par 3%26#39;s that are very inexpenisive, if that exists. Thanks!

Golf Courses

Check the Classic Group courses like Black Bear,Crown Park and Indigo Creek.Diamond Back( about 28 miles away) down rte.9 is a good course with great prices especially in the summer.

Also try River Oaks,Burning Ridge and Beechwood.

Sometimes courses will drop their rates in the afternoon.Best thing to do is call and ask what kind of specials are out there at that time of year.

Also ask about multi-play specials. In the summer you can get Witch, wizzard and Man o War for about $120 for all 3.

Golf Courses

also does Myrtle Beach or the area have any city operated golf courses?

Yes it does and its one I should have mentioned. Its called Whispering Pines and has no housing on it and a rather interesting layout.

Try Eastport up in the North end if it is still open. I%26#39;ve heard that is has sold and will shut down as soon as the approvals to develop are in place. It was only $35 when I was there in October.

It%26#39;s a fairly short course by some standards (5700 yards from the whites) and fairly easy to shoot a decent score. There are a handful of really good, fun golf holes......and the last 2 holes are extremely difficult....

Keep in mind that the time of year that you are planning on playing golf in the area is one of the highest (our Spring golf season)...and those ';cheap'; courses can be hard to book a tee time if you wait until you get here...so, I%26#39;d pick the few I really wanted to play, and book early.
