is murrells inlet a nice place to stay. My husband are coming down from ohio and our main thing is to surf fish and mainly pier fish. No boats. I get sick. I have been looking and looking on vrbo and i dont know which area to stay in to give him easy acess to the piers. HELP!

I thought about murrells inlet but dont know nothing about the area. Then i thought about springmaid, because of the pier was so big.

Yes, Murrells I. sounds like where you want to be, the only problem is, there are very few hotels there (plenty of restaurants though).

If you could find a cottage with waterview your husband would be in heaven.

There is also a nice pier in the southeast tip of Garden City just across the inlet. Mostly very exclusive houses in this area.

Some fishermen prefer the opposite (north) end of the grand strand, meaning Little River/Calabash area.

I%26#39;m sure someone will post with more specific suggestions.

I love Murrells Inlet! In fact its known as our ';seafood capital'; with some of the best places to eat in the area. Not alot of area to surf fish or pier fish right there at the inlet, however (a few areas to go crabbing or collect oysters). Its a real quiet area, and a few quaint hotels...not many condos (which is nice in a way)...there may be a few of the area marshfront homes that you may be able to rent. The pier at Garden City would be your closest pier, which you can actually see the ';tip'; of Garden City from the Marshwalk there in Murrells Inlet, but it is a bit of a drive. If this is the area that really interests you (and its a nice area...especially towards the end of the pennisula there in Garden City) I would look staying along the OF there, and driving over to check out Murrells Inlet.

:)
