Restaurant Report

Some restaurant feedbackfrom our recent trip:

Sticky Fingers: Rib joint was worth the trip. Ribs were excellent.

We chose this one because it was rated high from forums. The

down side was the service,....inattentive and apathetic. Basically

good food at a reasonable price, with weak management and

service to match...

Bonefish Grill: Really Good!. Surprisingly good restaurant for

a ';chain';. Food was very good in quality and presentation.

Service was efficient, although it could have been friendlier.

Fairly pricey for a chain, but well worth it.

Liberty Tavern: at Broadway @ Beach. This is a well run operation.

We have returned here every year. Quality items from top to

bottom. Not pretentious at all, just a great place to unwind and

have dinner. A real Brewpub with a nice selection of homebrew!

Johnny Rockets: at Broadway @ Beach. A DUMP!! Unbelievably

terrible. We had been there before, and it was OK for what it

is supposed to be. BUT this time it was a disaster. Dirty.......

Poor food handling, preparation, presentation. The worst run

restaurant I have seen in quite some time... Embarrasingly bad!

Ultimate California Pizza: Pizza was good. Not as reasonable as

it should be.

Carrabbas: Not bad italian food, but I will try a local Italian place

next time. Any Recommendations?

Yamato Japanese SteakHouse: at Barefoot Landing. An older

place in need of a remodel. Not as good or entertaining as the

similar restaurant in Broadway at the Beach. Food preparation

was not impressive. I%26#39;d stay away from this one.............

Notes: We stayed in a condo, and ate most breakfast and lunch in

house. I really thought the BI-LO market at 38th and the bypass in Myrtle Beach was a great place to shop for provisions.

Good luck on making your choices. I hope this helps.

Restaurant Report

Gorski,

For a real good Italian restaurant try Villa Mare and ask for Brian as your waiter.Brian is my son and he goes to school at Coastal Carolina.

By the way loved your comment to the lady in the Waterbridge post (Don%26#39;t underestimate the buying power of 4 golfers with clubs).

Sent you an e-mail yesterday.

Restaurant Report

Well....I%26#39;ll have to stop in again and have dinner at Villa Mare---had no idea that Brian was your son! ha! Small world!

For a couple other Italian places.....Villa Romana --- Fran and Rinaldo are wonderful hosts! Food is excellent, and John the accordian player just adds to the mix...

Luigi%26#39;s --- just off 62nd Ave N...Luigi makes his own mozzarella daily, as well as all of his pastas....it%26#39;s like eating in Mama%26#39;s! Yum!

:)

MBConcierge, where have you been,I didn%26#39;t see you post for a day or two. Do you know Brian?

For pizza and calzones, there%26#39;s a little pizza parlor in Cherry Grove....Basil%26#39;s. Great pie%26#39;s and calzones about 2 blocks from beach on Sea Mtn. Hwy.

I second the vote for Villa Romana...EXCELLENT Italian food!!! The best around in my opinion!

I know that I am not a local, but I STRONGLY urge you to try Angello%26#39;s restaurant. They have some of the BEST steaks I have ever had!! Hope this helps!!

John the multi-talented accordian player at Villa Romano can take ANY song %26amp; make it sound Italian. The night we were there he was actually doing a Pink Floyd medley! Amusingly entertaining!

Just one more reason you can%26#39;t miss this place; truly one-of-a-kind!

Thanks for the feedback...It seems that everybody likes Italian. I%26#39;ll make certain to try as many of those recommendations as possible.

I%26#39;m kinda surprised that nobody jumped on the bandwagon regarding the scathing reports on:

Yamato Japanese and

Johnny Rockets......

Can anyone confirm the ';dump status'; for mr?

Thank You,

Gorski

I haven%26#39;t been to Johnny Rockets in several years but the impression I got was it was a fun place but overpriced. The quality of food was not that great either.

As for Yamato%26#39;s, I have never been to the one at Barefoot Landing but I have been to the one at Broadway. I thought it was good but my all time favorite Japanese restaurant is Miyabi%26#39;s (there%26#39;s 2 locations...one in North Myrtle Beach and one in Murrells Inlet). I suggest trying that one on your next visit.

Have you checked out the ';sticky'; forum at the top of the page, ';A locals restaurant recommendation for any type food';? Many great suggestions there.

Enjoy!
