upscale, nice restaurants (myrtle beach , murrells inlet)

Hello all, I%26#39;ve done well by trip advisor before, so I%26#39;m taking a shot again.

My dad recently relocated to Murrells Inlet. For the holidays, I%26#39;m thinking of getting him a gift certificate to a nice restaurant but knowing nothing about the area...I%26#39;m stuck.

Any suggestions for nice restaurants in the Murrells Inlet/Myrtle Beach area...nothing too touristy or chain restaurants please.

Thanks for the help!

Might take some research to find what you%26#39;re looking for...

My favorite in Murrell%26#39;s Inlet are Dockside which has wonderful food and is in a new classy building and Olivers.I also love Lee%26#39;s Inlet Kitchen but it is not upscale.

You have a number of great options there in Murrells Inlet --- Capt Daves Dockside, Hot Fish Club (one of my personal favs), Lee Inlet (may not be upscale, but IMO one of the better restaurants there...its comfortable), Olivers Lodge (feels like Grandma%26#39;s house on a Sunday afternoon!), Bovines (for a great steak!), or even Divines Fish House (both of these are owned by Divine Dining which owns a number of good restaurants in the area...that may be an option to get a Divine certificate and he can choose from a number of places).

I cant see you going wrong with any of those suggestions --- Murrells Inlet is a great place for dining in the area!

:)

I second the Divine gift cert....their restaurants are generally more ';upscale'; than the others and your dad would be able to make the final choice, whether in Murrells%26#39; or elsewhere (Gulf Stream is great OVERLOOKING Murrells%26#39;).

Agree that Gulfstream would be another great option (great food, and wonderful sunsets!)...however, they are not part of the Divine group --- but part of another great group of local restaurants (Centarchy Group) including NY Prime, Gulfstream, Burro Locco, Carolina Roadhouse and California Dreaming....

This company also sells gift certificates that can be used at all the above listed restaurants.

Drunken Jacks is a really good, nice place (but not super fancy). They have a beautiful inlet view.

My vote goes to Divine Fish House or any of a number of restaurants along the Marsh Walk as opposed to Franks which I consider highly over-rated. Its nice to be able to stroll the Marsh Walk and take in some of the outdoor entertainment after your dinner.
