First timer needs help with hotel choices

My husband and I with our 2 kids, ages 8 and 10, will be traveling to Myrtle Beach next summer. This will be our first trip to Myrtle Beach. I have read alot on this forum about hotels, but still cannot make a decision. At this point I am leaning towards staying at Roxanne Towers, Long Bay, Breakers or Carribean. We are planning on doing some water activities (parasailing, banana boat rides) and would like some place with good restaurants nearby. Any thoughts or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Another option, check out some timeshare rentals.

You can do a two bedroom, full kitchen.

Just don%26#39;t go any of the ';meetings';.

The Caribbean is one of my favorites. It%26#39;s in a good location...very central. The price is reasonable .

Long Bay is a great location

I guess I%26#39;m going to keep reading. Thank you for your responses.

If you are looking at being centrally located, where you can walk to some of the activities and restaurants, I would really check out the Breakers...I do prefer the Paradise Tower there. You would be within walking distance to a number of places to grab a bite, shop, ice cream, coffees, mini golf....and maybe a 20 minute walk to Broadway at the Beach. The pool area there is really neat too...I think the kids would enjoy that.

Provide some of the best locals in the Grand Strand and the best pricing. Mostly advertised by the owners of the units themselves and with several great pictures of the amenities.

With 2 kids alongs, you might want to consider a condo type property. We stayed at Myrtlewood Villas and loved it. It was about the price of a regular hotel and had 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, 3 TVs with video players and a full kitchen. It is 1 mile from the beach and a little less to Broadway at the Beach. It is not right on the ocean but under the circumstances, consider the trade off.

Before going to Myrtlewood I would consider a 3-bedroom oceanfront or oceanview condo.Ask yourself,do I want to see a golf course or the ocean from my balcony.

If money is no object try Sea Island,Southwind or Marriot Oceanfront. For somewhere less costly try Forest Dunes or Long Bay.

Hi,

A lot of the hotels are great! There is so much re-development going on in Myrtle Beach Right now. Many of the oceanfront resorts are being re-developed and upgraded. It%26#39;s becoming like a little miami beach. I have seen many of the resorts at www.myrtlebeachrealestate.cc that are being converted. I know the new avista resort is a great place to stay and their rates are very fair. make sure when you call the resort to book or anything that they are not under renevations because that does not make for a good time. They will still reserve a room even though most of the amenities are closed. Just a little tip that may help you out. Hope you have a great stay.
