Verandas Condo

Did anyone stay at the Verandas this past summer? We are booking our Condo for next year and need feedback. Thank you.

Verandas Condo

Didn%26#39;t stay there this year but did drive by a few times in July. Stayed there three years ago.

Building was clean and well maintained. We had a one-bedroom ocean';view'; condo. Faced to the south. Ocean to the left. Ocean Blvd to the right.

Condo was more of a studio than a one bedroom. Entered from outside directly into bedroom. No hallway. Straight through ';kitchen'; and into livingroom. Kitchen so small there wasn%26#39;t enough counter space to make a sandwich. Had to lay cutting board on stove top. Living room was good size but half of it was taken up by dining table. No idea what a two bedroom is like.

Pool and lazy river were OK. Not resort size but relaxing. During our stay the three Fairfield towers were in the beginning stages of construction. Good news is they were moving furniture in this summer so that construction is finished. Bad news is the Fairfield complex is huge. Beach could be crowded.

Not sure about what%26#39;s to the south. There was a small mom and pop motel right next door. It was gone this past year. Might be construction next door to the south.

We don%26#39;t need a lot of frills and perks on beach trips. There for the beach. As little time as possible is spent in the condo. We enjoyed our stay at Verandas but doubt if we would stay there again. There are plenty of other no frills buildings in the area.

Hope this helps.........

No response. Hope you didn%26#39;t give up your search. Here are two sites to look at.

Give us more details of what you%26#39;re looking for and maybe we can help.

Have heard good things about Avista and The Ashworth. Cresent Shores and Cresenet Keyes get good reviews. Then there are many buildings that aren%26#39;t considered resorts that are great for a ';vacation on a budget';.

On the Elliott site you can click on the ';Map It'; feature and see the actual building and what%26#39;s next to it. Pics are a year or two old.

The tower next to Verandas now has two more next to it. The large building across the street is also part of that resort.

Thank you for the info pop2748....Sorry for the delay. Just back to planning again. We love the Main Street area. Looking for 2 bedroom, 2 bath, oceanfront. Not fond of huge complex. Expanding our search to include Chateau by the Sea, Ocean Garden Villas, Cresent Towers II. Any feedback. Thank you again!

Not familiar with any of those. Do know how you feel about being near Main Street. We feel the same about being near Sea Mountain Highway.

Due to not knowing all the rules for using Fairfield points we have to wait til first of year to make reservations and may end up in Kings Road/Shore Drive area. We%26#39;ll be like ducks out of water down that way. Guess as long as I sit facing the waves I won%26#39;t notice the large resort we%26#39;re staying in.

One place I would recommend and not all that far from Main Street would be The Oceans in Cherry Grove. One block north of Sea Mtn stoplight. Semi large building but has small building feel to it. One average size pool on the fourth floor over the parking garage. No hot tubs or lazy river. Large rooms. Our 1 bedroom had a bath and a half. Our stay in two bedroom was nice. Can%26#39;t remember all the details but know there wasn%26#39;t any problems.

Have stayed there twice. Only negative we had was all the door locks. Any entry from street or parking garage is locked. Have to use key to enter cubicle to get to elevator. The added security is nice but can be a pain when hands are full. You get used to it towards end of the week.

Greatest thing is the convenient location. Five minute walk to breakfast, lunch, dinner, groceries, bike rentals, ice cream shack.......First stay there we arrived on Sat and didn%26#39;t move car until Tuesday.

Sounds good! I will check The Oceans also. We have never stayed past the Avista. But do like the idea of walking to lunch, dinner, or ice cream. Thank you!

We stayed at the verandas in 2005 and it was fine, it was very convenient to the main street area. We did have a lot of ';visitors'; from fairfield using the pool and lazy river. They were mostly kids and I personally did not mind. Our condo was oceanfront, nice and clean. Hope this helps a little.
