New Damon's Restaurant at end of Strip

Hello all, I was down in Myrtle in September, we had a wonderful time. During our travels, I noticed a Damon%26#39;s restaurant next door to a huge newer looking hotel. It had a blueish/purple tint to it in the evening.

Due to time constraints, we never got to stop to eat or check out the Hotel. Does anyone know what the name of the hotel is? My parents LOVE Damon%26#39;s and I would like to send them to stay there, so they can eat their hearts out during their stay.

Any other great suggestions would be welcome. Thanks so much

The hotel your describing sounds like the Crown Reef . Damon%26#39;s has been there for a few years.

Yes, you are referring to the Crown Reef. I%26#39;m sorry but that would not be my first choice for a hotel as it is not the cleanest place by a long shot. The outside of the place is beautiful but honestly the rooms itself are a whole different story. Yes, Damon%26#39;s has been been there for a few years now.

Yes that is the Crown Reef hotel, but I have to say that we love it. It is a little run down, but we%26#39;ve checked other hotels in the area the last 2 years we were there and they were no better. And some of them were more expensive. A couple of great things about Crown Reef for us: 1) coffee 5 cents your whole stay; 2) cheap breakfasts and lunches ($1.95); 3) two huge outdoor pools; 4) at the south end of the beach, so the beach doesn%26#39;t seem as crowded; 5) every room is ocean front and has a balcony.

In the past we%26#39;ve stayed at the Palace and the Cavavelle -- awful. This past summer we checked out the Hampton Inn that everyone raves about, the pool (and only 1) was way too small for the number of people there. We went in one of their rooms and it was as clean as the Crown Reef.

Its a personal choice, but we%26#39;ve been coming back year after year and we%26#39;ll be there again in July 2007!!!
