My brother, his wife and three kids are going. We will not be eating out every night. The thinking is to eat out every second or third night so instead of so so meals we can have better meals and stay within a budget. I have scanned this forum and it sounds as if for seafood buffets original benjamins is a good place. Anyone know the price or have any suggestions? If you know of a different place do you also know what they charge? It doesn%26#39;t have to be a buffet. Its just that my brother perfers them. He%26#39;s a big eater.
Restaurant Prices
Most of the good seafood buffets are in the $20.00 plus pp category (less for kids). This is a fair price if you have a hearty appetite %26amp; can eat lots of crab legs, but remember that you%26#39;ll be paying for them whether you eat them or not.
Two that I would avoid are the Seafare %26amp; the Farmer%26#39;s Daughter.
Hook%26#39;s is a decent seafood buffet, not quite as big as most but good seafood (%26amp; steaks) at a lower price (maybe $17 pp...look for coupons).
The Chinese buffets are not as extensive (as Benjamin%26#39;s %26amp; Capt. Georges, Crabby Mikes, etc.) but can be a better bargain; I think the one in Surfside is only about $11 or $12 pp.
Golden Corral (steakhouse %26amp; buffet) is always a good deal and good food, different foods on different days; Fridays is seafood, etc. About $10-$15 pp. They also have a VERY good breakfast buffet on weekends for about $9 pp.
American Steakhouse %26amp; Buffet is also a similar place %26amp; price but I prefer Golden Corral.
Perhaps the best buffet deal in town is Ryan%26#39;s....$6.49 for lunch; 8.99 for dinner %26amp; you won%26#39;t believe the spread!
One last suggestion your kids would like is the Filling Station: this is a pizza, salad %26amp; sub buffet for $7.49 %26amp; its quite good.
Restaurant Prices
Hamburger Joes across from Barefoot Landing has great Burgers,wings and grilled cheese and is located with the back deck overloooking a scenic salt marsh.
Fiesta Mexicana,great prices and $2 margarita specials.
Villa Mare ,my favorite Italian restaurant has early bird specials from 4 to 5.
Original Benjamins is my family%26#39;s favorite. I think it%26#39;s well over $20 per person.
For me it%26#39;s not worth it because I don%26#39;t care for seafood %26amp; I can%26#39;t stand to eat until I%26#39;m bursting at the seams.
It is worth it for my husband %26amp; sons because they take full advantage of the seafood, crab legs, etc. A seafood dinner in most any restaurant would be at least $25.
I second the Fiesta Mexican suggestion. Loved it %26amp; very affordable. Portions should be large enough for the biggest eater.
I don%26#39;t know if they have a buffet. We ordered off the menu.
We eat at Crabby Mikes every year. Great food and service. Like others posted, about $20 for adul and cheaper for kids.
I must say on our last trip we tried Carolina Roadhouse Dinner including soup , salad, filet mingnon and chicken fo 8 of us was 109.00 before tip and it was delicious.
Ocean Garden Chinese buffet in North Myrtle Beach is excellent for the money. I think it is around $11 or $12 per person, but there are always coupons in the books you can pick up at the Chamber of Commerce and other places to save a few dollars more. Depending on where you will be staying, it may not be worth it to you if it is a long drive, but the selection on the buffet is wonderful. There is also a small salad bar with some fruit, a dessert bar, and a grill area where they will fix individual plates as part of the buffet.
