weather in October

This will be my husband and my first time to Mrtyle beach. We are thinking early October. We are looking for a hotel on the beach close to the attractions. Any suggestions?

October is a wonderful time to visit! The water temp is still warm (swimmable) and the days are usually warm and clear. Granted, it is still during hurricane season, but October usually isnt a very active month....the crowds have thinned, as has traffic! No longer than 15 minutes to get a table at some of the more popular places to eat....just a nice time!

As for hotels.....I really like the area known as the Avenues....50th Ave N to 82nd Ave N in Myrtle Beach....the beach here is really nice, and some really nice properties. Check out SouthWind Villas, Sea Island Inn, the new Dunes Villages, Forest Dunes....just a bit further north is Monteray Bay (they include a decent breakfast buffet and an evening dessert reception), Long Bay, Grande Shores or the Mariott at Grande Dunes....another place more in the ';heart'; of MB would be the Breakers Paradise tower.....they are located near the 21st Ave N area...so not far from Broadway at the Beach (www.broadwayatthebeach.com) and a number of places to grab a bite to eat...and one of my fav beach bars....Bummz!

Check out the reviews off to the left of this forum....if your a 1st timer this is a great place to get advice...as you will find there are a number of folks that have been coming here for years!

weather in October

We just stayed this past October in NMB, and it was really nice. There was two days of really warm weather (mid 70%26#39;s) and we actually swam in the ocean those two days. And there were two days of cooler (upper 60%26#39;s) that we just walked on the beach in the edge of the water. All in all, it was really nice weather. Not too hot. I think though, that I will go in the end of September last year to try to avoid the cooler days. I prefer mid to upper 70%26#39;s myself, but it%26#39;s all in what you like and don%26#39;t like.

We had a wonderful time though, so if you%26#39;re considering October, it%26#39;s a great month to go!
