Help with planning 3 day trip--

Husband %26amp; I are going to Charleston for 3 nights Nov. 20-23 %26amp; staying at Best Western Sweetgrass Inn. Any comments on that hotel? We%26#39;ll be arriving late so we%26#39;ll only have 2 days to do so much. We%26#39;d like to experience it as best we can, so I%26#39;d appreciate any suggestions as to what to do in such limited time. After having 23 degrees this am, I%26#39;m looking forward to the warmer weather. What should I expect in late Nov?

Help with planning 3 day trip--

The Best Western Sweetgrass Inn is on Rte 17, the Savannah Highway, west of the Ashley River. I have not stayed at the hotel; but, assuming you have a car, the location will be fine for touring. It is an easy drive into Charleston and to the Ashley River Plantations. Parking in Charleston is cheap and convenient.

I suggest that on one of your two days, you drive into Charleston and park at the visitor%26#39;s center on Meeting Street. At the visitor%26#39;s center, you can pick up maps, tour information, and discount coupons. From the visitor%26#39;s center you can take the ';on and off'; trolly into the historic district. Plan to have lunch and dinner in town.

On your second day, you might want to tour plantations. Drayton Hall is an authentic historic home and grounds. nearby, Middleton Place is a restored home and extensive gardens, with all sorts of tours and information on plantation life. Middleton Place also has a very good restaurant.

If you like barbecue, Bessinger%26#39;s barbecue, a local favorite, is close to your hotel.
