What is Myrtle Beach like during Spring break? How is the weather at this time of the year? We are a family with kids, 15 and 9. We are looking to see what is the best time to go on vacation. Don%26#39;t want to pull kids out of school. Would like to go during spring break or early summer.
spring break 2007Month of May isn%26#39;t too bad. Still off-season rates. Weather isn%26#39;t as predictable as summer but usually warm enough to get some sun. Maybe swim in heated pool. Ocean temps still a little chilly.
On the down side there are two Bike Weeks in May. Would have to check dates for this coming year. Thinking Harley Week is second week of May. Black Bike Week is usually week or two later.
June isn%26#39;t bad at all. Rates are up. Weather is warmer. Not super crowded until after the Fourth of July.

April is a great time to go. The temp is about mid 70%26#39;s to 80%26#39;s for highs. Not as packed as it is during the middle of July. Rates are lower as posted above. OCean may be a little cool. Outdoor pools maybe fine. Everything should be open but maybe not the water parks.
Probably one of the best things about Spring Break would be the reduced cost for your accomodations....you see rates go up beginning June, plus the crowds arent as thick in April, but its not like a ghost town either. April is real popular with the golfers...so thats the majority of the crowds here, as well as other families and Spring Breakers.
Like CBR said....the temps can be really nice...mid 70%26#39;s (you may see 80 with great sunshine!) and the lows usually in the low 50%26#39;s....water temp, is a bit on the chilly side for us locals...but you do see some folks brave it for maybe a minute or two...avg temp is 66. The Pavilion is closed....for good, so that wouldnt be an option, but you have Nascar speedpark, Brodway at the Beach, Barefoot Landing, TONS of mini golf, arcades, and the waterparks usually have open dates during spring breaks.
