Kiawah in January

We are looking for a destination for a sisters%26#39; retreat in January, 2007. We are four mature women, 50 - 62 years old, who enjoy an active lifestyle, especially biking, hiking, and kayaking in gorgeous surroundings. We don%26#39;t mind chilly weather; that%26#39;s why we have sweatshirts and parkas! We have located a charming house on Turnberry Lane in Vanderhorst Plantation. We haven%26#39;t booked it yet, but it will serve our needs nicely. We want a comfortable setting for enjoying good food, fine wine, great conversation and laughter.

That said, we undestand this is the low season and wonder if we will still be able to rent bikes and kayaks. Without the bikes and kayaks, Kiawah still calls to us - let%26#39;s see, no crowds. We can handle that.

No problem renting bikes. There are several local bike shops that rent year round. I%26#39;m sure kayaks can be rented in January as well. You might try SeaCoast Sports shop (seacoastsports.com) located in Fresh Fields.

Have fun!
