How do I know if hotel is north myrtle beach?

I heard it is a good idea to stay in north myrtle beach, not too far from attractions and not as busy. when i look up hotels, how do I know if hotel is north or not. If it says, North ocean blvd, does this mean it is north? have not been to myrtle beach before and are thinking of a trip there in the near future. Also, anyone know of a hotel that is north, not too far from attractions, that has heated pool. Any hotels with waterslide or lazy river? also breakfast included would be nice. Any ideas would be appreciated....

the zip code for North Myrtle Beach is 29582 . it should be listed in the address for each hotel .

kitten, you can go to the North Myrtle Beach Forum (yes, there is a seperate one). Or at the top of this page to the left, in light blue..there is box that says ';Search';...type in North Myrtle Beach and click ';GO';. A page similar to this will come up with lots of NORTH MB info. And if you scroll down...over to the left you should see hotels that are in North MB.

Good Luck!!

Kitten64: Yes it gets cunfusing. Go to Mapquest or some other travel site and pull up a map of the Grand Strand area. Zoom in until you can read the Ave numbers. There are two areas people refer to as north Myrtle Beach.

The city of Myrtle Beach is to the south. Where Rt 501 enters the city is the general area where north meets south. From there to the north the Ave. numbers go up and are your north Ocean Blvd numbers. Get up into the area of the 60%26#39;s-80s you are in the north ';end'; of Myrtle Beach. A lot of people call this area north Myrtle Beach.

Mile or two farther north you will see the area of Kings Road, Shore Drive and Arrowhead. This area is also refered to as north Myrtle Beach.

Few more miles to the north you will see the city of North Myrtle Beach. NMB begins around 48th Ave south. At Main Street the Avenues start into the north numbers. That%26#39;s what adds to the confusion. Some of the addresses in NMB are the same as in MB.

Most NMB rentals will have beach section mentioned in it%26#39;s description. Windy Hill, Cresent, Ocean Drive or Cherry Grove.

As somebody else has said. Check the zip code or check to see if it says MB or NMB in the address. If all else fails.Call them and ask.

Personally I like NMB. Not as busy. Maybe a few more minutes drive to attractions bit nothing to lose sleep over. Few hotels in NMB. Mostly condos. Some are resort type buildings with many ammenities.

Two sites for city of North Myrtle Beach rentals.

Thank you everyone for your advice. This was probably a silly question and thanks for clarifying. Hopefully this will help me when i decide on a place to stay. thanks again. i will probably have more questions in the near future.....

not silly at all....

in fact, many newcomers confuse north Myrtle Beach (the northern end of MB) with North Myrtle Beach, and don%26#39;t understand they are two separate towns.

I%26#39;ve gone on wild goose chases plenty of times confusing restaurant addresses (they don%26#39;t often clarify which town they%26#39;re in %26amp; it%26#39;s easy think an address like ';8th Ave. S is in south MB, not NMB).

Few years ago at check-in. A woman at the front of the line found out she was in NMB and not the north end of MB. She went ballistic. Wanted rental agency to correct it right then and there. Wasn%26#39;t a lot they could do about it.
