Myrtle Beach - which area to visit

Two adults, no kids, planning a one day, first time visit to Myrtle Beach in November. Will be in the area and want to visit a beautiful beach area for possible revisit during future visit. With 60 miles of beach, any suggestions on which area of the beach to visit? Anticipate beautiful beach area, no garish tourist traps and clean, reasonable lodging.

Myrtle Beach - which area to visit

I go to the north end - around the residential sections - Grande Dunes, Briarcliffe, places in the 67th Ave. area. My favorite location. Best wishes. To the south, Litchfield is also nice. Best wishes.

Try Sea Island, Southwind or for less money Forest Dunes or Grande Shores.

With only a ';one day'; visit...be sure to drive all along the beach...

quite a difference from one area to the next. Not really near enough time to explore and check out all the many options.

Warning..there are many ';garish'; tourist traps in Myrtle Beach....

but lots of beautiful beach and clean, resonable lodging.

I too would recommend the northern end of Myrtle Beach (Avenues area) or North Myrtle Beach.

Have fun!!

If you%26#39;re looking for hotel/condo type lodging, I%26#39;ll agree with the others...northern area of MB (from about 60th Ave. N on up) or North MB (which is the next town if you keep heading north).

Now, if you decide to come back %26amp; rent a house/cottage/condo for a week, then take a look south of MB....Surfside or Garden City still has commercialism/congestion, but if you keep heading south the Litchfield/Pawley%26#39;s Island area may be the relatively kidless, mostly commercial-less area you%26#39;re after.

If in the south end, check out Murrell%26#39;s Inlet for food/drinks/frivolity!
