Charleston VS. Savannah??

Between the two cities, which one is more desirable? My wife and I will be traveling next week with our 4 month old and we are looking to experience the southern charm. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Charleston VS. Savannah??

Both cities are charming. Although Charleston is larger than Savannah, the historic district of Charleston is compact and wonderful for strolling with a four-month-old. If you get some decent (typically mild and sunny, but not hot) weather, you can experience loads of charm just by walking, or by taking a carriage tour or a harbor cruise. The market, the grand homes, the exquisite gardens, the art and antique shops, the water front park and the Battery are all easily accessible. If you get an inclement day, visit the aquarium, which is also located close to the historic area. Also, Middleton Place plantation, which will be decorated for the holidays, is about a 20 mintue drive from downtown Charleston.

The only problem you might face with a baby is that restaurants will be crowded in the evening. I would suggest trying someof the great restaurants at lunch time, and then ';lying low'; at dinner time.

Charleston VS. Savannah??

I perfer Savannah to Charleston. If you want to feel like you%26#39;ve gone back in time...Savannah is going to fit your bill. It is a bit more spread out than Charleston. Charleston is going to give you more restraunts (and in my opinion better restraunts as far as flavor and variety go). Charleston gives you more to do in its surronding areas like: the beaches are better, the aquarium, the plantations, etc. You%26#39;ll be pleased with you visit to either.

I just [perhaps too hurriedly] posted a near-identical question above, so I%26#39;m going to track both threads with great interest :)
