What are the beaches like? Are they sandy or shelly? Are they the kind that%26#39;s hard packed or really soft when you walk on it?

The beaches are sandy. On Kiawah and Seabrook, they are hard packed, and with a gentle slope. Our youngest daughter learned to walk and to ride a bike on the beach at Kiawah.
while you are looking at options, don%26#39;t forget Kiawah, which has a much larger, longer beach than Seabrook.
Folly Beach is more of a surfer beach (i.e. bigger waves), so the sand quality and slope may be different, also. Hopefully, others will reply.
