Sports bars near Grande Shores Resort

Our golf group of 16 is staying this year at Grande Shores Resort on 77th Ave. Are there any sports bars close to the hotel? We%26#39;ve gone to Overtime in NMB before but are looking for something a little closer. A short cab ride away is fine.

Overtime would be a pretty good drive from Grande Shores....nothing really labeled as a ';sports bar'; in that general area, but you do have a number of options alot closer than Overtime.

Even tho%26#39; not ';labeled'; a sports bar, Liberty Tap Room and Grille carries a number of the ';big games'; on a number of the the TV%26#39;s there...you have a huge screen outside on the heated patio ';beer garden'; and another screen just as big inside the bar. This restuarant is almost within walking distance to Grande Shores...located on Kings Hwy between 79th and 76th Ave N.

A few other local favs in the area just south of Grande Shores would be ';5 O%26#39;Clock Somewhere';, Jimmigans, Shamrocks or Murphy%26#39;s Law....all south of Liberty on Kings Hwy...Jiimmigans would be the next closest.

I knew of Jimmagans and Shamrock but we%26#39;ll have to try Liberty. We%26#39;ll be down in May and hope to catch some NHL playoff games.

Are you going to be coming north of the border for Christmas this year?

Yep.....heading up to the great white north (hopefully!) Should be in Toronto Christmas Eve and stay until the day after Boxing Day....cant wait!

Funny that you say that........looking for a ';fun but not serious'; kareoke bar there in Toronto......any good suggestions? Thinking of our whole ';family group'; making a night of it! Something totally off the wall!

I know of one in a Chinese restaurant - On The Rocks - on Front St. just west of Sherbourne St. on the south side. When I get back to work next week I%26#39;ll ask around.

That would be great! I%26#39;ll jot that one down....we enjoyed China Town last time we were there....had a wonderful dinner there (cant remember the name of the restaurant).......keep me posted!
