Rental Homes

I am researching a week long family vacation that would involve 4 families and 17 people. 9 of the 17 are kids ranging in age from 8 to 18. We want to be on the beach in a nice area. I am thinking a house rental might be ideal. A pool at the house would be terrific. None of us have ever been to Myrtle Beach and I am sure I can find lots of information using the web about things to do there. My main concern at this point is the housing aspect. Does anyone have recommendations about places they have stayed at that they were happy with or maybe even places to avoid? Cleanliness, location and amenities are all important.

I saw some posts with links to web sites and I appreciate those as well as others people can let me know about. But I am REALLY interested in your personal experiences at some of these houses. Come on trip advisor forum contributors......give us the straight scoop! :)

Most of your houses will be north or south of MB proper. To the south you have Garden City, Surfside, Murrell%26#39;s Inlet and Pawley%26#39;s Island. Stretches out maybe 10-20 miles south of MB depending on where you draw the line. Farther south you go the more quiet and laid back it gets. Lots of restaurants in that area. Easy approx 20-30 minute drive to MB attractions.

Some houses in the north end area of MB. Not sure of how big the selection is. Would be closer to attractions. Traffic and congestion is heavier in this area. Others can hook you up with realtors in those two areas.

10-15 miles to the north of MB is the city of NMB. 20-30 minutes to attractions. Two largest realtors in that area are Elliott and Thomas Century 21.

Both have large selections of houses. Also can check out VRBO.

Has been several years since I%26#39;ve rented a house. Would say the two realtor companies have pretty high standards for maintenance and quality. You wouldn%26#39;t be disappointed with anything they offer.

A few oceanfront houses have pools. Might consider looking at a multi unit building. Would have three to four smaller rentals. Each family could have their own unit.

Might look at channel houses in Cherry Grove. Most are fairly new. A lot of them have pools. Some have game rooms. Fishing off back dock in the marsh. Short walk to beach.

Also Elliott has listing for Aces Wild. Oceanfront. Looks like condo building but listed under houses. Four huge units. Each unit sleeps approx 26. Six beds. Six and half baths. Pool, hot tub and game room.

Main thing to compare will be price. Bigger the house, the more ammenities, the closer to the beach, higher the rate.

Have fun shopping for a place.

Rental Homes

I have not rented a beach home in several years in the Grand Strand but I know Century 21 Thomas has several they rent. There not nearly as many large rental homes in this area as at the Outer Banks of NC around Buxton. I could recommend several there or Hatteras Realty. I%26#39;ve stayed in a few that would easily accomodate 20 with private pools, hot tubs, tennis and basketball courts, large screen TVs, pools tables, game rooms, DVD collections, xbox, large decks on every floor... A couple had elevators. There%26#39;s lots of nice beach homes between Ocean Drive and Cherry Grove in the Tilghman section but I don%26#39;t know where most rent through. Elliott Realty has some of them in a Luxury rental section.

Hoosier,

Try Booe Realty, I believe you can Google them and view their online offerings......

We just found a rental house in Garden City for $1200 for the week. MOST less then being in MB proper. We only have 7 of us coming. Not sure about finding a place big enough for that many. I would really agree with the others in going through a real estate company who can help you find the right place.
