Never been--love to shop--where to stay

Hello---I want to visit Charleston next fall, late October or mid-November. I love to shop and want to stay in the ';markets'; area---any suggestions? How cold will it be? Thanks!

There are a number of locations in the Market area. We stayed at the French Quarter Inn in November and it was great.

Shopping on King Street, the Market and the surrounding area is just a few steps away and the restaurants within walking distance are simply wonderful.

After dinner entertainment is close by as well.

It was light jacket weather when we were there which made the wandering around this beautiful city very comfortable.

Love Charleston,

Visited in March 03 and Sept 04. Stayed in the St Charles Inn Hotel on meeting St. could walk to shopping and restauants from there (king st. just around corner). Hotel was pretty good for price we paid (thou is was 2 1/2 years ago so cant say what it is like now).

For dining try 82 Queen (Queen St). Fab food and service, not cheap for not over epensive (see their website). Would definately eat their again. Hymans is good for seafood - not gourmet, but nice and very good prices and very popular.
