Looking for a nice restaurant that allows children

I am going to Charleston on Nov 2nd with my 3 1/2 year old daughter. I would like to eat at a good restaurant in Charleston. I don%26#39;t want a typical kid chain restaurant but don%26#39;t want something so upscale that I would feel uncomfortable with my daughter. We would probablty eat around 5-6 pm.

if your child is well-behaved why would you feel uncomfortable? I bring my grandchildren anywhere i want as long as they are behaving appropriately. Bring her anywhere, and if she is having a bad night leave. The hardest thing for kids is the length of time they have to sit for a nice meal - try someplace where you can get up and walk outside for a few seconds between courses.

try Cru Cafe and Peninsula grill - cru much less fancy with fab food, peninsula more fancy - best value since price for food is a bargain, she will defintely need to on her ';sunday best'; here. Tristan also easy to walk outside.

The mac %26amp; cheese and brerad pudding at Cru are wonderful. Tristan burgers one of the best downtown and peninsula Grill can%26#39;t be beat

another thought - not upscale but with nice ';vibes'; maybe someplace outside or overlooking water?

Shem creek location of vickery%26#39;s - it%26#39;s been a while since I%26#39;ve been, nice location.

Folly beach - taco boy very casual, 11 center street - upstairs tapas bar. very relaxed

mondo%26#39;s on james island - decent italian

if you are in town on a saturday walk to the farmers market. also picnic lunches from cru vafe and eat in battery park - she can run around and enjoy the scenery and water.

sullivan%26#39;s island

If you are staying Downtown, Fleet Landing is a restaurant that is right on the water at Waterfront Park and they are people friendly. The menu is very diverse from 4 course meals w/wine to Hamburgers and french fries for the little ones. There is even a great view of the Bridge. Reservations are not required but could be useful. Please enjoy yourself--
