We are going to be in Myrtle Beach for a week after the NACAR race in Charlotte in 2 weeks. I%26#39;m looking for the best route to get there from Charlotte?
Quickest Route from Charlotte
Hey Dawg,
I made that trip last year. I took 74 from Charlotte until I passed Lumberton (rt 95). Then take rt 41 to rt 9 and follow into the north end of myrtle.
If you are going to the south end of myrtle, then take 74 to 95 south and then follow rt 501 into MB and proceed from there....
Elapsed time should be 4 and a half hours...allowing for stops.
Good luck

Quickest Route from Charlotte
I would give you the back roads that we take but I would never get you there. I know how to get there but I can%26#39;t give directions though.
I know they%26#39;ve gone, but for future reference in case someone does a search...... 74 to Monroe, 601 to Pageland, 151 through McBee to Darlington, 52 to Florence, 76 to 501 and 501 into MB. Whew! It%26#39;s a mess but it%26#39;s the quickest way. We need an interstate to the Grand Strand!
That new I73/74 corridor they%26#39;re working on should connect right to 22 and be the direct interstate route to MB
I77 south past Charlotte to Exit 34 onto Rt. 34 at Ridgeway
Rt. 34 to Lugoff and turn right at the main intersection and go south two miles to I20 east to Florence, SC
I20 ends at Palmetto St. in Florence
Turn left on Palmetto and follow it east past the airport until it becomes 76
76 swings right and becomes 576 which takes you to Hwy. 501
Take Hwy. 501 to the (somewhat) new Hwy. 22
Avoid a lot of lights and traffic and follow Hwy. 22 into Myrtle Beach.
It%26#39;s about 3.5 hours to Myrtle Beach this way

We took Gorski%26#39;s route and it worked out great for us. Rt 9 put us closer to the end we wanted to be at than 501 would have.
